EVA
material is light and shock absorbent and can be used for
mass and quick productions, making it ideal for producing
shoe soles. However, to produce precise EVA molds requires
effective control of the expandable features of the EVA
material and the injection environment. The production process
is complex and difficult to control, with different parameters
that affect the mold development process. In the past, 2D
and 3D mold designers needed to work with each other to
verify that the initial mold prototype meets design specifications,
and if not, to modify and recreate another mold such that
the final mold prototype meets design specifications. This
process of making, verifying, modifying, and remaking a
mold is largely a matter of trial and error, taking into
account the different parameters and injection environment.
Thus, developing molds usually takes a long time, and since
the success rate for developing a correct EVA mold the first
time is low, the cost for developing EVA mold is usually
high.
EVA
Magician possesses functions which enable sectioning 3D
and 2D shoe models into cross-sections based on calculation
modes, material characteristics, and model design. Within
seconds, a scaled model can be generated according to the
optimally calculated scale ratios. Editing tools ensure
that the most precise EVA mold can be produced quickly and
efficiently from the first injection.
